The Roundabout
Whilst I was partaking of a Sunday ride and navigating a roundabout. Probably coming in too quick,on quite a lean angle the new exhaust headers became hooked on the road. This caused the front wheel to lose direction and resulted in the bike throwing me off while skittering towards the kerb on its side. It was relatively low speed. No major harm was done but there was damage to repair. Subsequently both sides of the headers were cut and re-welded. This located them closer into both sides, so didn’t scrape on lean angles so couldn’t happen again. I ordered a new cover for the supercharger belt as repair seemed unlikely. Fortunately aluminium is very soft so a few hours of polishing had it back looking almost perfect.
