Every time we go riding on motorcycles the first breath of excitement is the deliberate routine of readying oneself for a ride, which is as important as the ride itself. Advancing to the bike, zipping up the jacket, adjusting the belt and sleeves. Everything becomes...
Rotrex Superchargers
Rotrex supercharges work on a principal of a turbine the same way that turbochargers operate. For this principle to work the turbine spins at very high speed.
Rotrex achieves speeds of up to 250,000 rpm using planetary gears and its own oil system, the result being high pressure from a compact unit the size of an alternator.
This produces a linear increase in boost pressure and power band right to the red-line using very little crankshaft power so what is done with the throttle is transmitted directly to the rear wheel. There is no heat build up so components run cooler which reduces fatigue, exhaust temperatures are lower, efficiency over a turbocharger can be up to 10%.
Other Advantages:
- Wilder camshafts can be used to take advantage of the boost increase
- Lower compression means easier engine starting cam chains and shafts less stressed
- Less cost as $ per hp cheaper than normally aspired engines
- Progressive power means no stressed engine parts
- Nitrous injection cools the intake charge reducing knocking effect.
